I’m up too, and have also hit my morning run. But if you are new to me and you hit me up at 0650 I’m gonna think it’s weird unless we’ve discussed that I get up and out by that time.

12

u/kalkail ☑️ Mar 07 '23

Precisely. Just because I may be pulling teats at 0500 does not mean I want an unknown on my tit before 1000. Only familiars are welcome to text before that time. My phone stay on Focus/DND silent so it’s not like it is going to typically disrupt me, it’s the principle of the thing. Maybe I’m just old and boundaries like that no longer matter.

Also, some of us work alternate shifts, are night owls, or just ain’t morning people. Although IME messaging at that hour confirms the man’s incompatibility for most in those categories.

u/IronDBZ ☑️ Mar 07 '23 edited Mar 07 '23

don’t understand homophones

See brother man, what you don't understand is there is power in words, words that rhyme.

Why do you think there's so many lines in the song Summertime, they said living was easy but what they really mean is E Z, End Zone.

The goal is to dethrone the Black man from his rightful place and in summertime that's when the plan they orchestrate escalates and continues at its leisurely pace.

jk

(I swear motherfuckers really talk like that though, it's kind of scary).

People who falsely assert that ancient Egypt was a predominantly black society instead of a predominantly brown society. Many of the crazier ones also believe that black people are the true Native Americans or the true Jews.

6

u/myheartismykey ☑️ Mar 07 '23

So depending on which Era of Egypt they aren't wrong. But yeah on the whole that is the only aspect they get somewhat right.

23

u/mstrss9 ☑️ Mar 07 '23

I never hear them talk about the 25th dynasty of Egypt which was the time of the black pharaohs. Instead they claim that every damn pharaoh from Narmer to Cleopatra was black.

Next, they will say the Mongols were black.

8

u/myheartismykey ☑️ Mar 07 '23

Yo facts. It's always some almost truths. Hope that was what came across in my initial response rather than a defense of hoteps.

4

u/mstrss9 ☑️ Mar 07 '23

You definitely didn’t come across as defending them to me!

16

u/TheLastCoagulant ☑️ Mar 07 '23

Egypt was never a predominantly black civilization, and the amount of black African DNA found in Egyptians has increased over time, not decreased as many assume.

https://www.cnn.com/2017/06/22/health/ancient-egypt-mummy-dna-genome-heritage

Modern Egyptians were found to “inherit 8% more ancestry from African ancestors” than the mummies studied. The paper cites increased mobility along the Nile, increased long-distance commerce and the era of the trans-Saharan slave trade as potential reasons why.

Black Africans once ruled Egypt for a century, they were overlords over a predominantly brown society just like later White European rulers such as Cleopatra were. The actual population of Egypt was brown despite being ruled by Black and White foreigners throughout history.

Egyptians were Arabized in terms of culture and religion, but few Arabian conquerors physically migrated to Egypt, not significantly affecting Egyptian genetics. Just like few Greeks and Romans migrated to Egypt during Greek or Roman rule. The idea that Egypt was converted from a predominantly black society to a predominantly brown society due to the Arab invasion is a myth that has been disproven by genetic research and never made sense in the first place.

The reality is that brown Egyptians are indigenous to Egypt. They migrated from the Middle East to Egypt around 6,000 BC, then created Egyptian civilization 3,000 years thereafter. There is virtually no evidence of human habitation between 9,000 BC and 6,000 BC, they entered an uninhabited land and became the indigenous population.

8

u/myheartismykey ☑️ Mar 07 '23

My point was more on the fact that Egypt was ruled at one time by black Africans. I appreciate the info but it is all stuff I already know, just didn't want to get into the details of all of it. It's still good that you put it out there for people who may not know.

My object permanence was like 5 days when I was single, if I hit the next weekend and we didn’t connect then you weren’t hungry enough for me. To be clear when I got the digits I followed up the next afternoon to line up a date for the following Friday at the latest, if I got the vibe they’d be receptive I’d deliver flowers or send a small gift midweek. I’m not shy and I was fine failing, I just needed to be careful to not accidentally lovebomb people with my enthusiasm.

Aren’t there lots of kinds of “locks of hair” while “dreads” are more specific?

64

u/wordsoundpower Mar 06 '23

An explanation:

‘According to Tharps, “the modern understanding of dreadlocks is that the British, who were fighting Kenyan warriors (during colonialism in the late 19th century), came across the warriors’ locs and found them ‘dreadful,’ thus coining the term ‘dreadlocks.’” Personally, I refer to my hairstyle as locs, having dropped “dread” altogether given its negative connotation. Although many may not know of the term’s dark history, the hairstyle remains widely contentious in America two centuries later.’

44

u/Justalilhornytbh Mar 06 '23

I’ve had locs for 15 years and refer to them as such. My mom used to yell at me that they’re “locs not dreads!” So I’m glad to see the ingraining doesn’t need to be reversed

So what’s a reasonable wait time for a guy to practice before that first text? I’m old and washed, but I waited until late afternoon the next day to text my now wife

u/FistPunch_Vol_4 ☑️ Mar 07 '23

So last time I got a number, that was a Saturday. I waited until Monday around the time most people are bored af at work, texted something silly, turned that into drinks after work.

I would be this guy because I wake up at 5:30M to hit the gym and when at the gym don't touch my phone and just listen to music. Get back home, shower she get ready for work and while working I'm not texting. I mean it's a good morning text, what ole girl expect? Smh do you want him to text or not, shit might as well give him your number with instructions on when to text or call 🙄

Been there and thankfully he never texted me again. I'd already told him my waking hours. I guess he was testing me. I happily failed it.

Can we BREATHE?! PLEASE lol

2

u/Busy-Character-845 ☑️ Mar 07 '23

Aye i dont want to be bothered that early in the morning.

BUT.

Early risers tend to be hard working people with productive routines. People who work out before work, or read, or whatever. People who say “Grand rising”, if they’re not blindly on the bandwagon, tend to be people who put time and research into emotional/spiritual health. Which tends to accompany eating healthy and exercising (feed the soul). So…this would be a green flag to me.

Or maybe he’s an insomniac who recognized op is of higher caliber, so hes trying to sound woke. Life is one long test yall. Annoying.

u/oddlySpecificunicorn Mar 06 '23

u/KingJoy79 ☑️ Mar 07 '23

Is that Beyoncé?

1

u/vincec36 Mar 06 '23

It depends on if he’s always up early or if he’s just thirsting this one time. 6:50 may even be late to him if he’s a veteran who still gets up early

0

u/princeflare Mar 07 '23

I can’t tell. Is this an L on her, or an L on him?

3

u/Jamaican_Dynamite Mar 07 '23
